Anybackup V9 is an Agent-centered product redesigned with AI-native thinking and autonomous decision-making capabilities. Its overall architecture integrates data collection, execution, and decision-making: Anybackup Client is responsible for data collection, Anybackup Foundation is responsible for execution, and Anybackup Agent is responsible for reasoning and decision-making.

Release Positioning
The newly released Anybackup 9.0.0.0 alpha 1 is the first sub-version in the 9.0.0.0 alpha pre-release sequence for the Community Edition stage.

This release primarily enables users to initiate MySQL backup, recovery, query, and other business requests through natural language. After a user submits a request, Anybackup Agent automatically generates the corresponding policy plan. Once manually confirmed, the task is autonomously executed by a single-instance Anybackup Foundation driven through the CLI, with execution results returned to the user.
With this capability, backup administrators can complete professional data protection and recovery work as naturally as conversing with an experienced disaster recovery expert, delivering a more natural, intelligent, and efficient user experience.
Key Capabilities in This Release
1. Natural Language Interaction
This release allows users to express backup, recovery, query, and other business requirements through natural-language conversations. The system then completes the full closed loop of perception, understanding, planning, execution, and feedback, lowering the barrier to use.
2. Autonomous Backup
In this release, Anybackup Agent can intelligently recommend three backup plans based on business criticality, RPO, and cost considerations. After the user makes a selection, the plan can be executed autonomously.
Three standard backup policy combinations are currently built in:

3. Autonomous Recovery
In this release, Anybackup Agent can understand the natural-language semantics of failure descriptions, automatically generate corresponding recovery plans, provide risk warnings, and enforce manual confirmation. Specifically:
- Understanding the semantics of failure descriptions: supports different failure scenarios such as instance-level crashes, database-level corruption, rollback after misoperation, Binlog loss, and ransomware attacks.
- Automatically generating corresponding recovery plans: includes the recovery target, recovery scope, recommended point in time, rollback approach, risk assessment, and generation rationale.
- Risk warning and mandatory manual confirmation: all actions that may overwrite production data clearly display risks and are automatically executed by Anybackup Foundation via CLI only after manual confirmation.
4. Overview of Other Capabilities
AnyBackup Agent:
- Semantic intent understanding: supports proactive follow-up questions from the Agent when required information is missing.
- Natural-language query: supports querying task status, recovery progress, and system information at any time, with results displayed in a structured format.
- Complete conversational experience: supports recoverable conversation history, persistent background updates, and progressive visibility into the execution process.
AnyBackup Foundation: supports advanced features such as deduplication, compression, and encryption.
